Collaborate

Collaborate with the studio.

Partnership work with home, furniture, lighting, textile, and material brands.

Victus Design Studio works with a small number of brands each quarter on content, product photography, and specification-led collaborations.

The standard is straightforward: products are recommended because they work, compensation is disclosed clearly wherever it exists, and a paid placement never changes what gets said about a product. Brands that want a favorable review regardless of the product are not a fit here, and it is better to establish that on this page than three emails in.

Capabilities

Six ways to work together.

Sponsored editorial A written article on the Journal covering a product or category, with the product placed in genuine design context. Clearly labeled as sponsored at the top of the article.

Product photography and styling Styled photography of a product in a designed interior setting, licensed for the brand’s own use. Delivered as edited high-resolution files with agreed usage terms.

Social content Instagram posts, Reels, and Stories, and Pinterest Pins, showing the product in use with genuine design commentary. Disclosed per FTC guidelines and each platform’s own disclosure tools.

User-generated content Content produced for the brand’s channels and paid advertising rather than published on Victus channels. Priced separately because the usage rights are different and broader.

Designer-selected collections A collaborative collection assembled from a brand’s catalog, presented on this site with the reasoning behind each selection. Suits brands with deep catalogs where selection itself is the value.

Specification partnerships Ongoing relationships with trade suppliers whose products are specified in client projects. These are relationships rather than campaigns, and terms are set individually.

Studio note:

Standards

What is not negotiable.

Better to state these now than discover them mid-campaign.

Disclosure is not adjustable. Sponsored content is labeled at the top of the piece, before the content, in the same size as body text. Social posts use the platform’s own paid-partnership tools plus written disclosure in the caption. This is a legal requirement under FTC guidance and a condition of every engagement here.

Copy approval, not opinion approval. Brands may review for factual accuracy about their product and correct anything wrong. Brands do not approve the design opinion. If the opinion is unfavorable, the engagement ends and no fee is invoiced — the product does not get published with a false endorsement attached.

Products are tested before they are recommended. A product that has not been handled, installed, or specified will not be described as though it has been.

No exclusivity without terms. Category exclusivity is available and it is priced. It is not assumed.

No claims about results. Victus does not guarantee sales, traffic, or engagement outcomes from any placement. Reporting on what actually happened is provided.

Reach

Who this reaches.

Audience profile: Homeowners furnishing or renovating, primarily in the Southeast United States with national reach through search and Pinterest. The content skews toward people making considered, higher-consideration purchases — seating, lighting, rugs, and finishes rather than impulse decor.

Current reach:

Media kit: Available on request with current figures, past collaboration examples where permitted, rate card, and usage terms.

Process

From inquiry to published.

01 — Inquiry. Send the product, the objective, the timeline, and the budget range. Budget range in the first message saves both sides a round of email.

02 — Fit assessment. Whether the product genuinely suits this audience and whether it can be recommended honestly. Response within three business days.

03 — Proposal. Deliverables, timeline, usage rights, exclusivity terms if any, disclosure language, and fee. In writing.

04 — Agreement and deposit. Fifty percent to schedule, balance on delivery.

05 — Production. Product is received, tested, styled, shot, and written. Brand reviews for factual accuracy only.

06 — Publication and reporting. Content publishes on the agreed date with disclosure in place. A performance report follows at thirty days.

Plainly

What Victus declines.

  • Product gifting in exchange for guaranteed positive coverage
  • Any engagement requiring undisclosed compensation
  • Products outside the home, interiors, and material categories
  • Brands requesting approval over design opinion rather than factual accuracy
  • Anything requiring a claim Victus cannot verify — awards, rankings, “as seen in” placements, or fabricated endorsements
  • Multi-level marketing and affiliate recruitment programs

Unsolicited product sent without an agreement in place does not create an obligation to publish.
